Linear hole pattern calculator
Start coordinates define the first hole, and spacing is measured along the line. A 90° line increases Y while retaining X. Negative start coordinates and angles are supported.
Formula and inputs
Xᵢ = X₀ + i × spacing × cos(θ); Yᵢ = Y₀ + i × spacing × sin(θ).
Worked example
Five holes at 20 mm spacing span 80 mm from first to last centre.
Use the result in your setup
Confirm the input dimensions and unit system against your drawing before calculating. Keep full precision during a calculation and round only the final value to suit the measurement or programming requirement. A numerical result does not account for a machine’s complete setup, workholding or control configuration.
